Phone Services

  • Kids Help Line is a free and confidential, telephone counselling service for Australians aged 5 to 25 years old.

  • The Commission can help to resolve complaints about discrimination and breaches of human rights.

  • E-headspace telephone service supports young people and their families going through a tough time.

Internet Resources

  • Headspace
    Headspace is a national youth mental health foundation. They can help young people who are going through a tough time. There are headspace centres all over Australia that you can go to. Check out their website for locations.
  • Kids Help Line
    Kids Help Line is a free and confidential phone help line for young people aged 5-25. You can have a chat by phone, online or by email about anything that is worrying you, including cyberbullying.
  • ReachOut.com
    ReachOut is anonymous and here for you 24/7. It’s packed with loads of facts and info, stories, videos, blogs and forums to help you deal with whatever you’re going through.
  • Lifeline
    Lifeline is a nationwide counselling service that provides assistance to people in crisis. Its telephone service is staffed by trained counsellors and is available 24/7 (13 11 14) and its website provides further information and support options.
  • Bullying. No Way!
    Bullying. No Way! is a website that provides information, resources and support services for young children, students, parents and teachers on a range of bullying issues and related matters. It also provides a range of helpful ideas and links to important support services.

Mental Health Services

  • Be You: Beyond Blue
    Be You is the part of beyondblue that has a specific focus on young people aged 12 to 25 years.
    Depression and anxiety are two of the most common mental health problems experienced by young people. If you, or anyone else you know, is suffering from either of these illnesses, check out the website for a range of support services and resources available to help you.
  • COPMI (Children Of Parents with a Mental Illness)
    COPMI contains information for kids and young people about having a parent who experiences mental illness. It contains information about mental illness, a "Getting Help" area with referral services, and personal accounts of teenagers whose lives have been affected by mental illness.
  • The Butterfly Foundation
    The Butterfly Foundation provides support for Australians dealing with eating disorders.
    The website provides information on a range of counselling services, education programs and support options available. There is also a support line available on 1800 334 673.

  • If you have experienced sexual assault or sexual harassment and feel you would like to speak to someone for support or information, 1800RESPECT (Phone: 1800 737 732) can provide counselling 24-hours a day, 7 days a week.
