Your Story Portal - Privacy Collection Notice

The Australian Human Rights Commission (Commission) collects and handles personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and our Privacy Policy.  

By providing a submission, you consent to us collecting your personal information and sensitive information and using it for the purposes set out below. If your submission includes the personal information of third parties, this information will also be collected by us. Those third parties will not be notified that their information has been collected and we will not use their personal information. 

 We may use the information you provide to us for the purposes of the Emergency Response Framework Project, including analysing key themes, publishing resources and reports, advocating for human rights considerations in emergency responses and the development of a human rights emergency framework. This may include disclosure of information to third party service providers. The reports, resources and other documents to be published may include deidentified case studies and examples taken from your submission. We may also use the information to contact you concerning your submission.  

The Commission is subject to the Freedom of Information Act 1982 (Cth) and documents held by the Commission may have to be disclosed by the AHRC in response to a request under that Act.
