The Speaking from Experience community guide
Landmark report that calls for stronger measures to combat sexual harassment
Summary
This guide is a short, visual summary of the Speaking from Experience report. It highlights what we heard from victim-survivors (‘contributors’). They told us what was unhelpful, what was helpful, and what must change to make workplaces safer and more inclusive.

What we heard
Workplace sexual harassment (WSH) does not happen in isolation. It often occurs where there are intersecting forms of discrimination or disadvantage.
The Speaking from Experience: What needs to change in workplace sexual harassment (Speaking from Experience) report amplifies the voices of over 300 victim-survivors of WSH from across Australia who bravely shared their lived expertise and advice. They include First Nations workers, culturally and racially marginalised workers, LGBTQ+ workers, workers with a disability, young workers, and others often excluded from national responses.
WSH affects every part of life. People who experience WSH often have the least amount of power: those in insecure work, who are younger, on temporary visas, facing racism, ableism, homophobia, language barriers and other forms of discrimination.
