The submission considers the adequacy and effectiveness of the government's response to the report of the National Inquiry into the Separation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children from their families, Bringing them home.
The submission considers the adequacy of the government's response to the recommendations of the report; addresses the arguments put by the government in its submission to the same inquiry (particularly questioning the methodology of Bringing them home and the basis for making reparation, including monetary compensation); and examines recent international developments in responding to violations of human rights.
