Dear Ms Roberts

Re: Temporary Exemption Application - Catholic Education Office, Archdiocese of Sydney in relation to Proposed Scholarships for Male Trainee Teachers

I refer to the above application made on 30 August 2002 for an exemption from section 21 (2) (a) of the Sex Discrimination Act ("the Act").

In order to anticipate other potential claims, the Catholic Education Office ("CEO") also wishes to seek an exemption from section 22 (1) of the Act. This additional application is made in the same basis as outlined in the original letter of 30 August.

Do not hesitate to contact me should you require additional information or clarification on any aspects of this matter.

Yours sincerely

Greg McKay Employment Relations Adviser
