Summary
Contact officers are designated staff who support employees experiencing discrimination, bullying, or harassment. To avoid conflicts of interest, these roles are typically separate from human resources or management.
Establishing contact officers helps build a positive workplace culture and proactively prevents harmful behaviours. This approach is widely used across government, business and community sectors.
Our training features scenario-based learning using authentic case examples from our investigation and conciliation service, ensuring relevant and practical skill development.
What you will learn
Outcomes include:
- Develop knowledge and understanding of discrimination, bullying and harassment.
- Identify practical skills and strategies for supporting colleagues who may have experienced discrimination, bullying or harassment.
- Apply knowledge and skills to scenarios relating to day-to-day work.
