From: Samantha Blackmore Sent: Monday, 7 December 2009 8:20 AM To: disabdis Dear Sir/Madam, I would like to see the committments of improving cinemas with captions and audio description in the continnum months for the local deaf community at Strathpine Westfied, Birch and Carole Cinema. It wouldn't be a necessary to lodge complaint if there was an exemption in this area. However, we would consider this as a need for the local community where there are 21 adults and 17 children who are deaf or hearing impaired living in Bray Park (15 adults and 15 children), Lawnton and Strathpine. Yet it is still growing. We would like to see the sessions times to be extended unless where the arrangements can be made for the whole community to view. We were not very happy with the cinemas that shows in the city as we live too far away. It would be more likely with the regionals like for example Gold Coast, Townsville, Cairns, and the like and also in the metropolitian rural areas. Yes please it would be an idea to view the the cinemas build with captions and accessible ready. Kinds Regards, The Deaf Family: Samantha, Harry, Cynthia, Jemima, Melanie, Bianca Blackmore
