From: Bozic, Mary Sent: Monday, 7 December 2009 4:35 PM To: disabdis Subject: captioned cinema changes [SEC=UNCLASSIFIED] I would like to express my concern about the changes which are being proposed and would affect the rights of deaf and hearing-impaired (HI) people to have equitable access to movies. Deaf and HI people have significantly reduced access to verbal communication and this impacts daily on their lives. It would be very unfair for them to lose their right to protest about a lack of captioning at the 125 cinemas owned by Village, Hoyts, Reading and Greater Union Cinemas for the next 2.5 years. I strongly support the Deaf and HI community on this issue. Mary Bozic Paediatric Audiologist PO Box 940 Blacktown 2148
