From: Lyn Fitzgerald Sent: Wednesday, 25 November 2009 1:33 PM To: disabdis Subject: Exemption from Disability Discrimination Act I would like to voice my concerns re the recent application made by Village Roadshow, Greater Union, Hoyts and Reading Cinemas requesting exemption from the Disability Discrimination Act for a period of two and a half years. Australia is supposed to be moving towards the ideal of having people with disabilities included in every activity, rather than restricting them. If two and a half years is considered reasonable, then I suggest the instigators of this application impose the same restriction on their own personal activities. Restriction is not fun; it's not dignified; living with the disability is not fun; inclusion is everyone's right. Regards Lyn Fitzgerald
