From: Liam Hickson Sent: Monday, 7 December 2009 4:07 PM To: disabdis Subject: Disability Exemption Act in Cinemas To whom it may concern, Denying the deaf and hard of hearing a popular past time is just so backward it makes my head spin. After all the struggle these people have to go through just to do what you and I consider to be easy, everyday and normal, taking away the simple enjoyment of watching a film with friends is a devastating blow to all those who have fought for equal rights. If this exemption is passed, I will never see a film at Village, Hoyts, Reading or Greater Union cinemas until it is undone. Instead of the progressive move to make the cinema an attractive entertainment option for all by intoducing more captioning in cinemas, the insensitive management behind these businesses have chosen to make it less accessable. How dare they. Yours truly, Liam Hickson
