Subject:	Cinema Exemption from Captioning

I would like to register my objection to The Cinema Industries’ application for an exemption from the 
Disability Discrimination Act in relation to captioning for the next two and a half years.

Considering the increasing proportion of aged citizens in our community and the increased prevalence of 
hearing loss, I would suggest that captioning is of great benefit to those people in addition to members 
of the signing Deaf community. 

Captioning therefore should be continued at lest the current frequency.
