Subject: Rights of persons with sensory impairment to access movies in the community theatre Ms. Val Johnstone 1/96 Truganini Road, Carnegie, Vic. 3163 Re: Objection to submission for exemption from DDA by cinemas such as Village, etc. As a person who loves the arts and going to the movies, having a vision impairment certainly makes choices narrower. The pilot at NOVA Carlton Victoria was very welcome and gave us a sense of what could be. The technology does exist and similar to program management of 3D and ordinary mode of films (e.g. recent showing of UP) the program management of audio described and/or sub-titled films should be good business practice. I strongly object to the exemption from DDA by cinema chains . Valerie Johnstone
