I strongly object to the application made by Village Roadshow, 
Greater Union, Hoyts and Reading Cinemas requesting exemption 
from the Disability Discrimination Act for a period of 2 ½ years.  It 
seems quite opposite to the direction being taken by the Rudd 
Government to increase services for those with disabilities and 
reduces dramatically the ability of a great many people with 
hearing/sight impairments to share in the advantages those of us 
without such disabilities enjoy.  This is discriminatory and 
degrading.
