From: Ron Linning Sent: Monday, 7 December 2009 3:43 PM To: disabdis Subject: MOVIE THEATRE CAPTIONING TO WHOMEVER MAY HELP I am both a Audiologist and the relative of a profoundly deaf person. The provision of captioning for movie theatres would be of significant positive impact on the social inclusiveness of the deaf and hard-of-hearing citizens of our land. The loss of a right to advocate for this, and to complain when some provision is NOT available will inhibit the opportunity for a significantly un- provisioned part of our society to be included in the normal round of activities we all take for granted. I strongly urge that the application for exemption be NOT granted, and that we encourage all our business to be inclusive in attitude. Yours Sincerely Ron Linning Director of Audiology Ipswich Hospital.
