From: Mason-Cox, Susan Sent: Tuesday, 1 December 2009 10:34 AM To: disabdis Subject: Cinema captioning and audio-description I wish to convey my condemnation of the intention of major cinema chains submitting an exemption to the requirement that some movies have captioning and audio-description for hearing impaired people. This flies in the face of the Disability Discrimination Act and I will be appalled if this is to be allowed. The accessibility requirement of cinemas is at a minimum as it is and will prevent hearing impaired people from attending cinemas with their hearing friends, a right they should have as much as for the rest of the population.
