Less than 0.3% of all movies screened per week will be captioned.
This fact is simply deplorable
To think that these companies believe that it is a fair and just thing to do shows just how
immoral they really are.
Allowing the 4 large cinema companies their requests exempting them from the Disability
Discrimination Act for a period of two and a half years is a major violation of human
rights.

It violates people’s rights of:
Recognition and equality
Freedom of expression
Freedom of association
Taking part in public life
The right to liberty

These are basic human rights people take for granted every day.
All people should have the opportunity to go to the movies and enjoy themselves. Why
shouldn’t people with hearing or vision impairments have that same opportunity??

And here I was thinking this was the land of opportunity where everyone has a fair go.
How wrong I was.
