From: AMIE O'SHEA Sent: Wednesday, 25 November 2009 4:38 PM To: disabdis Subject: Submission in response to application for temporary exemption under DDA section 55 To whom it may concern: We feel that the application made for a Temporary Exemption by Hoyts Corporation, Greater Union Organisation, Village Cinemas and Reading Cinemas is inappropriate and undeserved. It makes me sad to have to argue for the realistic possibility of going to the movies with family, friends, children or partners. Please note that the proposed exemption would affect not only people who are Deaf, hard of hearing, legally blind or vision impaired but also any of their hearing and sighted friends and family. In our opinion the exemption goes against the spirit of the Rudd Government's National Arts and Disability Strategy, the principles of access for all and is just plain unfair. We like to go to the movies and hope that this exemption will not be approved. Regards, Amie O'Shea and Melanie Pritchard
