Subject:	Captioning in cinemas

I write to ask that local cinema chains not be exempted from the requirement to supply some
captioned options at their cinemas. My daughter is deaf and would greatly benefit from the
opportunity to view captioned movies at the cinema. I would also enjoy this option, just because
I’m getting old and cranky and I don’t always understand what people are saying.

Please enforce the scope and intentions of the Disability Discrimination Act and do not grant an
exemption to the Cinema Industry on this important matter.
