About the 2025 nomination

Anjali Sharma is a young climate justice advocate who leads the Duty of Care Campaign. At age 16, she was the lead litigant in Sharma vs Minister for the Environment, a class action which argued that the Environment Minister owes all young people a duty of care to protect them from the impacts of climate change.

Anjali’s campaign has seen bills introduced at both a federal and a state level and has shaped climate discussion. Throughout, she has faced significant obstacles and still maintained her unflappable and courageous advocacy.
