About the 2025 nomination

Dr Jane Tiller is a lawyer, genetic counsellor and public health researcher. She is recognised internationally for her leadership in addressing ethical, legal and social issues arising from genomic medicine. Her work was instrumental in the recently announced Government bill to ban genetic discrimination in the life insurance industry.

She is an advisor in genomics at Monash University and co-founder of the Australian Genetic Non-Discrimination Working Group. Jane is  co-lead of DNA Screen, a world-first study piloting preventive DNA screening.
