About the 2026 nomination
Amber Brock-Fabel is a youth advocate and founding director of the South Australian Youth Forum (SAYF).
At just 17 years old, Amber established the Forum as an independent, youth-led organisation dedicated to bridging the gap between young people and decision-makers, creating meaningful opportunities for young voices to shape the issues that affect them.
Awarded the 2025 Young Australian of the Year for South Australia, Amber has led the Forum to establish research partnerships into youth loneliness, appear as Expert Witnesses to Senate inquiries, and receive special accreditation to attend the United Nations Summit of the Future in New York.
Her work is driven by a simple belief: good decisions come from good collaboration. Alongside leading SAYF, Amber works independently with organisations to develop youth engagement frameworks, strengthen youth voice structures in schools and organisations and design meaningful co-design processes. Her work on youth loneliness has contributed to peer-reviewed publications, with research published under both her own name and the South Australian Youth Forum as a collective author in journals including Qualitative Research.
Passionate about creating spaces where young people feel safe and valued, Amber believes meaningful participation leads to stronger communities, and more responsive systems.
