About the complaint

The complainant alleged the respondent retailer terminated her employment, citing she was sick too often and missed too many shifts. The complainant said she explained she has anxiety and tried to give as much notice as possible on days she felt unable to work. 

The retailer claimed the complainant's employment was terminated due to absenteeism and unreliability.

The complaint was resolved with an agreement that the retailer pay the complainant $8,000 as general damages and deliver anti-discrimination training to its co-owners and manager.
