About the complaint
The complainant has verbal dyspraxia and Attention deficit and Hyperactivity Disorder and undertook a diploma qualification with the respondent training organisation. She alleged she was unsuccessful in attaining the qualification because the training orgnaisation failed to accommodate her disability.
The training organisation said the complainant did not meet the standards required to complete the diploma and that concerns were raised about her competency during workplace assessments.
The complaint was resolved by conciliation with an agreement that the training organisation pay the complainant $5,000 and write to her expressing regret for the hurt she experienced as a result of the events giving rise to the complaint.
