About the complaint

The complainant is sixteen years of age and worked as a crew member in a fast food restaurant. She alleged that her manager told her “You’re working for me, you’re my bitch”. The complainant alleged that after her parents called the restaurant to discuss the incident, she was suspended. She said she was told she was being suspended pending an investigation of allegations made against her, but was never told the outcome of the investigation.

The restaurant denied the allegations but indicated a willingness to participate in conciliation.

The complaint was resolved by conciliation with an agreement that the restaurant pay the complainant approximately $1,430 as compensation for lost wages.
