About the complaint

The complainant alleged the respondent medical clinic required her to attend another venue because she was accompanied by an assistance dog. She also alleged she was made to wait outside the clinic with her assistance dog once documentation was completed.

The clinic said the complainant was provided with medical treatment and denied discrimination.

The complaint was resolved by conciliation with an agreement that the medical clinic donate $1,000 to an agreed charity involved in the training of assistance dogs.
