About the complaint
The complainant alleged a staff member at the respondent café required him to sit outside and was abrupt with him because he was accompanied by an assistance dog.
On being advised of the complaint, the café agreed to participate in conciliation to try to resolve the complaint.
The complaint was resolved. The café wrote to the complainant apologising for the incident and letting him know that it delivered additional training to staff to promote inclusivity, hospitality, and respect.
