About the complaint
The complainant has a heart condition, depression and had a miscarriage. She used ad-hoc personal leave to manage her disability. She alleged her manager directed her to take leave without pay until the health issues were resolved and declined her requests for alternative duties that would have enabled her to continue working. She said she felt she had no option but to resign.
The company said it was unable to offer the complainant alternative duties because of operational constraints.
The complaint was resolved by conciliation with an agreement that the company pay the complainant $15,000.
