The complainant was employed as a director at the respondent hotel and alleged a fellow director sexually harassed him, including by touching him, discussing sex and genitalia in the workplace and making comments of a sexual nature. He alleged that when he raised concerns with management, one manager told him to leave his employment if he was uncomfortable with the conduct and another manager discouraged him from making a formal complaint.
The hotel denied any unlawful conduct and agreed to participate in conciliation.
The complaint was resolved with an agreement that the hotel pay the complainant $55,000. The parties agreed to end the employment relationship.
