About the complaint
The complainant has memory loss. He says he needs two to three mobile phone numbers but has difficulty remembering random series of numbers. He asked to be provided with chosen easy-to-recall mobile phone numbers as part of his mobile phone plan. He alleges he was told this would not be possible because the respondent third-party telecommunication provider randomly allocates phone numbers to customers.
The respondent telecommunication company advised that it does offer easy-to-remember numbers for a fee but some sellers do not offer this option to customers. The company said this is a business decision of the seller.
The complaint was resolved with an agreement that the company provide the complainant with two easy-to-remember numbers free of charge.
