Compliance and enforcement
Understand how the Commission enforces compliance with the positive duty under the Sex Discrimination Act in Australian workplaces and organisations.
Our role
The Commission has the power to enforce compliance by organisations and businesses with the positive duty in the Sex Discrimination Act.
The Commission has produced a Statement of Intent [PDF, 179 KB] that outlines how it will deliver on the Minister’s expectations [PDF 129 KB] with respect to fulfilling its statutory responsibilities.
See our Compliance and Enforcement Policy for more information on how the Commission performs its functions, and how we ensure that organisations and businesses receive the support, guidance and information necessary to comply with their obligations under the positive duty.
Complete the Positive Duty Form
Anyone can tell us about any concerns with an organisation or business not complying with the positive duty by completing our online Positive Duty Form.
