Summary

We actively seek submissions for our inquiries, projects and conversations from a broad cross section of the community, as well as those with a special interest in particular issues.

We value your submission

For most of our inquiries, projects and conversations, we intend to publish the submissions we receive on our website, and we will often prepare and publish a report(s). Our report(s) will often draw upon, refer to or quote some of the submissions we receive. We may decide not to publish submissions or to remove information in submissions, such as personal information, prior to publication. In many cases, you may make a submission without identifying yourself, or tell us that you would like your submission to be confidential.

We will not release confidential submissions to anyone without your consent unless required by law. If we receive a request under the Freedom of Information Act 1982 (Cth) there may be relevant exemptions to disclosure (including for material obtained in confidence and personal information).

Wherever possible, we will consult with you about any Freedom of Information Act request before a decision is made about releasing information.

Our Submission Policy provides further information on the use, publication and access to submissions.

General information about freedom of information can be found on the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner website.
