The Australian Human Rights Commission makes this submission to the Attorney-General's Department in relation to its inquiry into the national plan to end the abuse and mistreatment of older people.

The draft National Plan to End the Abuse and Mistreatment of Older People 2024-2034 is a 10-year plan to coordinate action by government, the sector and community to prevent, respond and ultimately end the abuse and mistreatment of older people.

This is the second iteration of the National Plan, with the first running from 2019-2023.
