Privacy Collection Notice
The Australian Human Rights Commission (Commission) collects and handles personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and our Privacy Policy.
By participating in an interview with us, you consent to us collecting and using your personal information, including any sensitive information you share with us, for the purposes explained below.
The information you provide to us will be used to assist the Commission in its inspection and review of the Immigration Detention Facility and in preparing a report on the conditions and treatment in the Facility.
This report will make recommendations to the Government on improving conditions and treatment and may include quotes or information that you share with us. However, any report will not include your name and will not identify you. We will not share your information with anyone unless you give us your consent to do so or if we are required or authorised to disclose it by law.
Our Privacy Policy sets out how you can access or seek correction of your personal information, make a complaint about how we have handled your information and how we will deal with your complaint.
