We're here to help

Not sure if your situation is covered by our complaint process? Our National Information Service is here to help. It includes the Respect@Work Information Service.

You can contact the service for answers about how we handle complaints, depending on your needs.

Our  phone lines are open Monday to Friday 10.00 AM to 4.00 PM Sydney time.

For your information

The National Information Services are currently receiving a high volume of emails and enquiries. We are trying to respond as quickly as we can but there may be delays.

We may not respond to you if:

  • what you are contacting us about is not covered by the laws we administer
  • you have copied us into the email
  • the message contains rude, threatening, abusive or disrespectful language.

We will treat you fairly and with respect and courtesy. In return, we expect that you treat our staff with respect and courtesy.

This service offers information and referrals on various human rights and discrimination issues.

It can:​

  • explain your rights and responsibilities under the federal human rights and anti-discrimination laws.
  • discuss whether you can make a complaint to us or another organisation
  • guide you on how to make or respond to a complaint to the Commission
  • refer you to other services that may assist you.

How to contact the National Information Service

Respect@Work Information Service

This service is a national, trauma-informed support providing details about workplace sexual harassment and sex-based discrimination.

It can help: ​

  • explain your rights and responsibilities under the Sex Discrimination Act 1984 and related laws
  • discuss whether you can make a complaint to us or another organisation
  • guide you on how to make or respond to a complaint to the Commission
  • refer you to other services, such as legal or counselling support.​

You may decide to:

  • lodge a formal complaint with us
  • seek assistance from another organisation
  • take no further action at this time.
