Summary
A shorter guide to the framework.
How we developed the Framework
We heard from many people about their experiences and knowledge of racism in Australia to help develop the Framework.
We talked directly with:
- peak and community organisations
- service providers
- government departments
- experts
- community members.
We heard consistently that systemic and structural racism is deeply embedded in our society and needs an urgent national response.
Framework themes
Australia needs a National Anti-Racism Taskforce
The Commission is urging the Australian Government to set up a taskforce for anti-racism action.
This taskforce should:
- oversee the implementation of the Framework
- be co-chaired by the Race Discrimination Commissioner
- be made up of peak organisations and cross-jurisdiction government leaders.
Support
If you have been affected by racism, you can access a range of support services.
