About the complaint
The complainant alleged that the store manager at the hair salon where he worked sexually harassed him, including by pulling his pants up in a manner that caused pain in his groin and pinching his nipple. The complainant said he experienced significant anxiety and felt he had no option but to resign.
The respondents denied the allegation but agreed to participate in conciliation to try to resolve the complaint.
The complaint was resolved with an agreement that the salon pay the complainant $25,000, review relevant policies and procedures on sexual harassment and deliver training to team members on the revised policies.
