Outcome of Queensland Rail consultations on TGSIs
On 11 February 2002 the Human Rights and Equal Opportunity Commission decided to grant a temporary exemption to Queensland Rail (QR) under section 55 of the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA). National Inquiry on Employment and Disability Interim Report: 1. Background to the Inquiry
Australians with disability are much less likely to be employed than people without disability. They have a comparatively lower labour force participation rate (53.2% compared to 80.1%) and a higher unemployment rate (8.6% compared to 5%) than those without a disability.
