Chapter 3: A human rights-based approach to lateral violence - Social Justice Report 2011
When we look at the many issues that face Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, it is easy to get paralysed by their complexity, entrenched nature and the sheer size of the challenge. There are many different tools available to suit the varying circumstances that face our diverse communities. Lateral violence is no different. -

Human Rights: On the record: Chapter 4
Under the AHRC Act, an employer can make a distinction against someone with a criminal record if the person’s particular criminal record means that they are unable to fulfil the inherent requirements of the job. WORKability 2: chapter 4
WORKability I: Barriers noted that many employers are afraid of the 'unknowns' that may arise when employing people with disability. [1] On the one hand, this is the case with any new employee and the way to deal with the risk is to have a probationary period in an employment contract. On the other hand, several First Round Submissions suggested that a 'risk-free' opportunity to test an employment relationship with people with disability would be an incentive to employers to take on new employees with disability. -
