Beaven, trading as Buchan Bus n Freight, for a temporary exemption under section 55 of the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) from the provisions of the Disability Standards for Accessible Public Transport to permit the introduction of a public transport service using a vehicle which is not wheelchair accessible and which although second hand is new to public transport service. -

Same-Sex: Same Entitlements: Chapter 3
This chapter explains how the provisions of international human rights treaties protect same-sex couples and their children, in the context of accessing financial and work-related entitlements. In particular, this chapter focuses on the right to non-discrimination on the grounds of sexual orientation. It also describes how the breach of that right can interfere with a range of other basic human rights, for example, the right to social security. The chapter also explains how discrimination against parents on the grounds of sexual orientation can impact on the rights of their children. -

Notice of inquiry: Application for temporary exemption: Air South
The Commission has received an application from Air South Pty. Ltd. (a charter and airline operator based in Adelaide) under section 55 of the Disability Discrimination Act so as to permit a number of restrictions on carriage of passengers with disability on its aircraft. The aircraft have passenger capacities ranging from 4 to 15 and the application is thus made by reference to sections 23 and 24 of the DDA rather than by reference to the Disability Stadnards for Accessible Public Transport, which do not apply to aircraft of this size. -
