1.1 The majority of amendments contained in the Human Rights Legislation Amendment Bill 1996 ("the Bill") draw on the work of a Review Committee established in September 1993 comprising members of the Attorney-General's Department, the Human Rights and Equal Opportunity Commission ("HREOC") and the Department of Finance.
