Children’s Commissioner to Launch Final Report
<p>Australia’s first Children’s Commissioner, Megan Mitchell will on Monday launch <a href="https://www.humanrights.gov.au/our-work/childrens-rights/publications/childrens-rights-report-2019">her final report – one of the most comprehensive assessments of children’s rights ever produced in Australia.&nbsp;</a></p> <p>The report makes clear that the mental health of Australian children is not being cared for sufficiently and that Governments must do more to ensure children’s wellbeing. &nbsp;</p> -

<p>The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Social Justice Commissioner June Oscar AO has welcomed the announcement of new funding for the Wiyi Yani U Thangani (Women’s Voices) project.</p> <p>The Federal Minister for Indigenous Affairs Nigel Scullion today announced $1.7 million to support the second stage of the project, as part of the Fourth Action Plan of the National Plan to Reduce Violence Against Women and their Children.</p> <p>Commissioner Oscar said Stage Two of the project will build on the success of the national conversation with First Nations women and girls.</p> -
